“The sky is your limit”

Class of 2026 senior Aaron Dean has been accepted via Early Decision to Columbia University!

“I am thrilled to be accepted to Columbia University. I now have the opportunity to study at one of the world's leading institutions alongside peers from all different backgrounds and cultures. I also have the opportunity to explore and learn outside the classroom in one of the most amazing cities in the world – New York City!”

In this highlight, former Head Boy Aaron Dean talks about what he looks forward to most when it comes to studying in the ‘Big Apple’, as well as what it took to get there.

Aaron is planning to study philosophy and economics when he enrols at Columbia, expressing excitement about meeting his new professors and classmates in the fall.

LCIS is so proud of Aaron’s achievement as he joins fellow Dragon alums who have matriculated to Ivy League universities like Columbia, Cornell, Stanford and Yale.

Aaron’s wonderful news also received national media coverage.

Aaron was also recently featured in The Nassau Guardian sharing his excitement about this achievement:

Aaron Dean has accomplished a feat worth crowing about — the 17-year-old Lyford Cay International School (LCIS) senior has been accepted through the early decision (ED) process into the highly selective Ivy League Columbia University In The City of New York, which is ranked in the United States as having a four-percent acceptance rate.

A student who is accepted as an ED applicant, and offered a financial aid package that is considered adequate, must attend, and withdraw all other applications if accepted by ED.

“I am thrilled to be accepted to Columbia University. I now have the opportunity to study at one of the world’s leading institutions alongside peers from all different backgrounds and cultures,” said Aaron.
