The International Baccalaureate Curriculum guides objectives and assessments in all grades. LCIS is the leading school in the region for families who are looking for rigorous academics, critical and creative thinking and a programme that nurtures the development of the whole child. In 2015, 85% of our Diploma students achieved the full IB Diploma, exceeding worldwide IB percentage (79%). LCIS has 46 nationalities represented in a student body of 350, which offers a rich, multi-cultural educational experience for both the staff and students. Our classes are small. On average, the faculty to student ratio is 1:7 which allows a close student-teacher rapport. LCIS offers three of the IB Programmes: PYP, MYP and DP.
In each child, intellectual, physical, social, emotional and creative dimensions are interrelated. In order to address all of these dimensions, our programme includes drama, music and art activities.
Collaborative work, hands-on activities, experiments, games, independent learning, teacher-directed learning and inquiry-based learning are all typical learning strategies for the Elementary School.
The MYP is designed for students aged 11-16 who continue to study all the major subject disciplines (languages, humanities, sciences, mathematics, art, technology and physical education).
The programme aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.
